The titles of the report and the centre are not titles of an OPEN MIND. They are titles appertaining to WITCH HUNTERS and HUNTERS OF DEVIATIONISTS AND ENEMIES OF TRUE RELIGION.
The first of the three sections of the report is entitled UNPACKING EXPERIENCES OF HOSTILITY.
The second is entitled UNPACKING EXPRESSIONS OF HOSTILITY.
The third is entitled UNPACKING THE BACKLASH.
Therefore if anyone had anticipated that this report would examine hostility from two sides, he knows by now that he is going to be disappointed. There is only one point of view and only one TARGET.
CRUCIAL TO THE MANIPULATION OF MINDS IS THE MANIPULATION OF NAMES. This report deprives the English of their name: they are called white rural residents (1.1.3.) instead of the English of England. Denial of a people’s name is denial of their existence: is one of the steps on the road to genocide. (The numerals in brackets refer to the section, the part of the section and the page.)
Despite being fundamental to the evolution of Humanity, the word HOMELAND never appears in this report. The Executive Summary of the first section not only refuses Human nature, it even refuses the First Law of Natural Selection, which is the conservation of the selected. It does this so that it can reduce the English anciently rooted in England to white rural residents, allowing only that Community connections are strong among White British population (1.1.3.), which in this report is a definition of “Racism”. (See 1.1.5.)
It is my understanding that one characteristic of INTERNATIONAL LOVE is the respect we pay to other people’s homelands and to their way of life, in short to know when we have left our homeland and entered another’s. This report appears to hold a different ethic: when we enter our neighbours’ home, we are to tell them to rearrange their furniture.
The third part of the first Executive Summary is entitled What Are the Impacts of Rural Racism? Its concluding statement is Conformity to White norms was the condition for acceptance. (1.1.4.) Thus it is a warrantable inference that the writers of this report believe that it is “Racist” to demand that the “minoritised” groups (1.1.5.) drive on the same side of the road as the “White British”.
They who respond that the inference is absurd have fallen into a trap, because they have conceded that some conformity is essential, and then there is the debate, what conformity? Oh, fatal debate. Hence the writers of this report allow no debate.
The fourth section of the first Executive Summary is entitled Why Does Rural Racism Happen? The whole section reads as a revolutionary rejection of evolution. Life on Earth is founded on the first achievement of the First Law of Natural Selection, which is the selection of INTEGRITY, in other words the selection of the CLOSED BODY. The closed body is a BIOLOGICAL CONCEPT and is conserved through all of evolution, INCLUDING THE SOCIAL EVOLUTION OF HUMANITY. The necessary corollary of integrity or the closed body is the ALIEN against which bodies have anti-bodies and nations have border guards. But the writers of this report deny all this and demand of the English ABSOLUTE OPENNESS – but do not demand it of the “minoritised” groups whose autonomy (2.1.4) is to be respected by the opened-up English. And we note that in this report NOTHING WHATSOEVER IS DEMANDED OF THE “MINORITISED” GROUPS.
And let us repeat the respect the Human pays to other peoples’ homelands. Walk carefully in their gardens lest you tread on their flowers. This respect is love. The writers of this report do not love the English. In any age before the age of “Anti-Racism”, this report would have been read as the FIRST DIRECTIVE issued by the OCCUPYING POWER.
Part 2 of the first Executive Summary is entitled What Does Rural Racism Look Like? Remember that there is only one point of view allowed in this report. In justice, there are three points of view: prosecution, defence and judge. Judge is the objective point of view. In this report there is only prosecution. But not even that. In a court of justice the case for the prosecution comes backed-up with evidence. In this report there is only accusation.
According to Home Office statistics for the year ending March 2024, police in England recorded 98, 799 race hate crimes. (1.2.10.) Police in England do NOT record crimes. THEY RECORD ACCUSATIONS.
A symptom of this report is CONTENT WARNING (in bright red). This report contains hate speech, abusive language and references to racism which individuals may find distressing or offensive. (1.2.2.)
Another symptom is this (after a list of pious organisations): Their commitment to equality, inclusion and racial justice in rural spaces is an inspiration, and their partnership has enriched this research in countless ways. Finally we acknowledge all those working, often quietly and without thanks, to challenge racism and build belonging in rural communities across the country.

A third is this: A note on well-being. To support the research team, we obtained additional funding to appoint a counsellor who could provide specialist support … to discuss the psychological demands of this work. It is important … to acknowledge the stresses and strains of prolonged exposure to hate speech and negative commentary. (1.2.15/16.)
Such words do not belong in honest research. They are manipulative. They are worse than manipulative: they belong in Salem, Massachusetts, where the elders of the congregation met in mutual support and prayer for the courage to do God’s work in the rooting out of witches.
Moreover, through an arts-based approach that included creative writing, poetry and photography, participants examined how racism in the countryside is not only experienced socially but embedded in its historical legacies, cultural legacies and symbolic landscapes. These creative practices exposed the way in which exclusion is woven into rural heritage. (1.2.12.) Arts-based approach is the approach used by the therapist to help the traumatised towards healing. The traumatised are those who have come too close to the foul breath of (ugh!) Racism (ugh!).
Let us now be deadly serious. The quote above implies that the writers of this report believe THAT THE ENGLISH TREE IS ROTTEN TO THE ROOTS AND MUST THEREFORE BE PULLED UP OUT OF THE EARTH.
Please note that locations are approximate to protect the anonymity of participants. (1.2.14). Of course anonymous: 1. Secret denunciations abound in ages of paranoia. 2. Denunciations can be concocted in police headquarters and nobody need know.
The writers of this report HAVE NEVER HEARD OF FARMING. To them the “countryside” is an extension of kiddies’ play area.
Land is food; food is farming; farming is not in a vacuum; farming is within a tradition of inherited know-how. SANE GOVERNMENTS PROTECT THAT TRADITION.
HUMANS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE: HUMANS ARE ADAPTED. The normalities of Home, common to all Humanity, are adapted to the reality of the particular bit of Earth. But in this report THEY ARE ALL SPECIMENS OF “RACISM”. That the Lake District grows sheep and not rice becomes evidence of the exclusivity that is “Racism”.
And worse: the writers of this report ARE UNAWARE OF A PLANET IN CRISIS and how this imposes the responsibility and duty of self-limitation on all of us, namely to recognise THE CURSE OF TOURISM and abjure it.
In this report property ownership is also evidence of racial exclusivity. Historical legacies of land ownership and class-based exclusion continue to shape who belongs and who has the feeling of entitlement to be in the countryside. (1.2.27.)
Now we can understand why the UNPRECEDENTED AND UNSURVIVABLE death-tax has been put on English farmers. Elsewhere this is called ETHNIC CLEANSING. How clever to do Ethnic Cleansing by taxation rather than by bullet.
I don’t know where you would get Kosher or Halal food … or just things you’re used to eating that, if you don’t get them, make you feel like your whole system is clogged up. (Penny, White British and Israeli. 1.2.24.) For others, exclusion operated more subtly for cues of monocultural customs for example in pub culture. (1.2.29.) Boundary awareness, knowing where you end and the other begins, is sine qua non of adult Humanity. The failure in individuals to respect boundaries is now fashionably called ‘narcissism’. It used to be called infantile egotism. Anciently it was called being SPOILT.
Here is a quote that further exposes the writers of this report: The closest place that would have a few people who are Muslim is Manchester. That’s three hours away on the train. Never lived there, but when I visit it, it feels more like home. (Nowal, Arab. 1.2.28.) If this Muslim longs to be AT HOME AMONG HIS OWN KIND, DO NOT THE ENGLISH? YET THE WRITERS OF THIS REPORT DAMN THE ENGLISH AS “RACIST” FOR WANTING TO BE AT HOME AMONG THEIR OWN KIND.
HOME-LOVE IS NATURALLY SELECTED FOR SURVIVAL. We humans do not survive on our own, we are not snow leopards, we survive in nations. Nation is not state or empire or corporation or golf club or political party or religion or European Union or ECHR, NATION IS EXTENSION OF EXTENDED FAMILY. Until Liberalism fell on England like a honey-trap, children revered their parents. Why? Because their parents kept them alive: fed and safe. Likewise the nation keeps us alive: fed and safe. BUT ONLY IF WE KEEP IT ALIVE: FED AND SAFE. Stupid to go to sea in a ship and sink the ship. The True Human first secures the ship then retires to enjoy his cabin.
Hatred is stupid. One of Liberalism’s most deadly lies is that life is dildo not duty, that life is choice, that you can choose your nation, that you are not obliged, if you don’t feel like it, to guard your nation, that YOU MUST HATE YOUR NATION to be a proper liberated person. TO HATE YOUR NATION IS TO HATE YOURSELF.
I think growing up in White dominant spaces is not good for anyone. (Kate, White British and American. 1.2.29.) I remember taking the kids to the Lake District and as we stepped off the train, the kids went, ‘Where are all the people, the normal people?’ And I asked, ‘What do you mean, normal people?’ And they’re like, ‘Why is everyone white?’ It really stands out. (Penny, White British and Israeli. 1.2.29.)
With these two quotes, the writers of this report have gone beyond mere BIOLOGICAL PERVERSION in their denial of the SOCIAL BIOLOGY of this species, because these two quotes remind us of how, a few decades ago, GERMANS SPOKE ABOUT JEWS.
Unsubstantiated accusations have no place in an honest report. In this report not one accusation is substantiated. Proof is not necessary when guilt is assumed. I was cycling to the corner shop. And these two kiddos (sic), they were in their early twenties with attack dogs (sic). And as I passed them, they made several racist comments. (Paul, Mixed Heritage, British. 1.2.32.) In some quotes it is difficult to make out what the accusation is. At bus stops, there would be people queuing. And then I remember someone said to me, ‘in this country we queue’. And I started to think, I think we queue in Hong Kong more than here. (Adrian, East Asian. 1.2.32). To include in this report we queue in Hong Kong more than here was not wise of the writers of this report. But then the writers of this report have a hundred times already ‘hoist themselves with their own petard’ by inadvertently portraying “minoritised” groups as UTTERLY INTOLERANT AND ABSOLUTELY INSISTANT ON THE MAINTENANCE OF THEIR IDENTITY WHILE ABSOLUTELY DAMNING “WHITES” FOR MAINTAINING THEIRS.
Anti-Racism is not paranoid, is it? What is paranoia? Queen Victoria said of the Boer War, ‘the possibility of defeat does not exist’. Paranoia says of this report, ‘the possibility of an alternative point of view does not exist’. I’ve had experiences of going into a takeaway or a café, with a group of people and it was just the way the waiting staff served us, or didn’t serve us. (Ranger M, British Indian. 1.2.35.) The subtle but persistent nature of non-verbal cues of hostility are difficult to articulate, and therefore difficult to explain to the sceptic. However they illustrate the ways racism in rural spaces operates … (1.2.35.) If they are difficult to explain, they cannot illustrate. “Minoritised” individuals disclosed being subjected to stereotypes … Stereotypes were both positive and negative. Positive stereotypes typically manifested as ways to categorise certain individuals as ‘okay’, with their presence in rural areas deemed acceptable. (1.2.33.) NOT-ACCEPTABLE = RACISM: ACCEPTABLE = RACISM.
It was summer and we were all clearing some weeds and I was with a volunteer. … And he said, ‘omg, I just feel like I could be in the middle of a jungle or something. And your hair is quite jungly too. (Ellery, Nigerian and British. 1.2.32.)
Here are two of the fundamental laws of Human relationships:

But in any case the Alternative Point-of-View says to Ellery that perhaps weeds had got caught in your hair. It does happen when gardening, you know.
Paranoia already knows: it doesn’t wait to find out.
Participants report that they are frequently asked, ‘Where are you really from?’ which exemplifies how individuals, even those born and raised in the same British Isles, are made to feel like they don’t fully belong. (1.2.33.) When we meet strangers, the universal habit of us Humans is to ask them where they come from. It is to establish a commonality. This is now Racism.
The leopard cannot change his spots: the happy leopard is the leopard happy with his spots. IF I GO TO LIVE IN CHINA, DO I BECOME CHINESE? If I go to live in Zululand, do I become Zulu? If I demand to be accepted as such, I AM IN NEED OF THERAPY, and I am ABUSING THE PEOPLE INTO WHOSE IDENTITY I HAVE MOVED.
AND I AM AN ENEMY OF HUMANITY. MAN IS HIS NATIONS: THE ENEMY OF A NATION IS THE ENEMY OF MAN.
Look after your nation and leave other nations alone.
I can imagine the Zulus having a good laugh when I say I am a Zulu. Just let the English try laughing. There is a condition known as PSYCHOTIC IDENTITY THEFT, which is very dangerous because it almost always culminates in the murder of the person whose identity has been stolen. KNOWING WHO YOU ARE is the foundation of the healthy Human personality. Knowing who you are is the gift of your parents, your kindred, your nation: is your IDENTITY. It is ONLY WITHIN YOUR IDENTITY THAT YOU HAVE YOUR INDIVIDUALITY. This is both BIOLOGY and LOGIC. Schizophrenia is the condition of those who don’t know who they are. The schizophrenic is the homeless soul. One of his self-therapies is psychotic identity theft. The schizophrenic says, ‘I am nothing, he is something: I am he’. Then the schizophrenic says ‘I am he, he is a thief, he must die.’
The writers of this report are in denial of the logic of membership. Do I join the membership or does the membership join me? By the very logic of membership, membership refuses admission until the individual proves his conformity.
Anti-Racism is a revolution. REVOLUTION IS HATRED OF THE PAST. The past used to be revered because THE PAST IS THE GIVER OF LIFE. That you are alive is the gift of the past. That the future shall have life is your gift, is your love, is your True Humanity, is – in a phrase – your GOOD WILL. The virtue of animals is their good will towards life. This virtue has drained away from Humanity. All that is left is the rage that is the last defence against despair. This report manifests no good will.
REVOLUTION IS BIOLOGICAL PERVERSION. REVOLUTION IS THE ENEMY OF EVOLUTION. REVOLUTION HAS MURDERED MORE MILLIONS OF HUMAN BEINGS IN A FEW YEARS THAN ALL THE KINGS OF HISTORY MURDERED IN THOUSANDS OF YEARS. I repeat: this report is Anti-Racist, and Anti-Racism is a revolution, and revolution is murderous.
For a moment of light relief, here are two specimens of paranoia as absurdity. When barriers such as transport or lack of culturally appropriate food go unaddressed, exclusion becomes routine. By framing exclusion as cultural disinterest rather than inequality, this myth renders systematic barriers invisible. (2.1.4.) So now we know why there is such a shortage of buses in rural areas. And now we know why we eat fish and chips. Every chip we place in our mouths is to spite “minoritised” groups.
Archival and creative work by our collaborators reveal how rural lives have been shaped by colonial labour and migration. (2.1.5.) If you can’t find it in the archives, you can always create it.
And I had always thought that RURAL LIVES WERE SHAPED BY THE LAND.
One of the symptoms of this report is the absence of definitions. Definitions are dangerous: they expose you. Some key terms not defined are “Racism”, “inclusive”, “diversity”, “equality”, “community” and “belonging”.
Any definition of the terms above must show that they denote that which is GOOD FOR THE ENGLISH. Why? Otherwise it’s INVASION.
Instead of definitions, we have labels. Everybody knows what “Racism” is – until they are asked to define it. Shouting it a million times is not a definition. Law is not a definition. Only justice defines: only reason defines. In Salem they knew who was witch and who was victim. Then the judge arrived and showed it otherwise.
THE MENACE OF LABELS. To the unthinking this report seems so sound: to the thinker, this report is a cloudy edifice built up of labels. A label is an undefined term, taken for granted, such as “Racism”, which is designed to arouse an instant unthinking response of frightened submission expressed as either love or loathing. Then upon the undefined unchallengeable axiom of that label is piled other labels by mere deduction. For example if “Racism” is evil, then keeping people out of your home is “Racist exclusion”. And so on. This sort of paranoid construction is absurd but it is also a killer.
THE PROPER MAN IS NOT TO BE AFFRIGHTED BY LABELS. But it takes such courage. At this moment in Human history, Humanity’s favourite pastime is not sex, it is HATRED. Hatred screams at hatred. And hatred makes war on hatred. Hatred is easier than love. Love defines its terms.
And of course the ubiquitous paranoia is found in this report: a lack of culturally appropriate services … contribute to under-reporting … . (1.1.5.)
Paranoia is so pervasive in this report that to quote all of it is to quote the whole report. We just get the looks. THE LOOKS (emphasis), I bet everyone talks about the looks, and people assume things about you. (Motaz, South Asian. 1.2.35.)
And the psychological burden of anticipating racism … (1.1.4.)
Like alcoholism and jealousy, paranoia is progressive. Let us now consider the AGGRESSIVE PARANOIA of this report.
Recommendations. Encourage mainstream walking groups to engage proactively with “minoritised” and faith-based participants. Support the autonomy of Black, Moslem, and other “minoritised” people to define their own relationships with rural space. (2.1.4.)
Recommendations. Reveal colonial contexts in heritage interpretation, using plaques, trails and exhibits to credit enslaved and colonised labour. Incorporate diasporic foodways and agricultural knowledge into museum displays, community gardens and local festivals. Support community-led archives, poetry and art projects that recover lives omitted from official records. (2.1.5.) In Communist days, this was called REVISIONISM whereby history was rewritten so that it conformed to Dialectical Materialism. The writers of this report demand that history be rewritten to conform to Anti-Racism. Co-curate research and exhibitions with “minoritised” partners, ensuring their perspectives guide how history is told. (2.1.5.) This is the universal practice of conquerors: you teach our history now. The Renaming of Pubs. (3.1.4) More conqueror work. And so childish.
Can paranoia get more paranoid, more absurd and more menacing than this: Many businesses, including pubs, were found to have links to individuals who benefited from the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833. (3.1.4.) NOW THE VERY ACT THAT ABOLISHED SLAVERY IS EVIDENCE OF RACISM.
And I had thought that IT WAS THE SLAVES WHO BENEFITTED FROM ABOLITION.
There is of course A SLAVERY OF THE SOUL.
ANOTHER PARANOIA REDUCTIO AD ABSURDAM. Gardening: several individuals have spoken publicly about horticulture’s diversity problem, criticising it for lack of sensitivity to issues of race. (3.1.4.) Oh wicked soil for being English.
CREATIVE PARANOIA. Being truth, paranoia does not need to be truthful. Some white guy said, ‘Look at that N word (sic). He’s got better clothes than I have. Let’s beat him.’ (Dana, Asian and Welsh. 1.2.31.) Paranoia says that if fiction upholds truth, fiction is truth: Dana needs to spend some time learning colloquial English.
Here I attempt to educate the writers of this report into the ways of the English: LET THE ACCUSER JUSTIFY HIS ACCUSATIONS OR BE EXPOSED AS A FALSE ACCUSER.
VIOLENT AND CRIMINAL PARANOIA. The toppling of Edward Colston’s statue marked the beginning of a series of actions taken against statues and other memorials related to enslavers and colonisers. (3.1.3.) These crimes are not described as “hate-crimes” or even as vandalism, they are described as Changes to Built Environment (3.1.3.)
MENACING PARANOIA. This examination is already damned a priori by the writers of this report as Backlash. (The third section of the report is entitled Unpacking the Backlash.) Paranoia is the CLOSED MIND. The final closure of the closed mind is in that label Backlash. Backlash is the writers’ prepared defence against criticism. The more cogent the criticism the more it is Backlash. “He says, ‘Two and two is not five, it is four’. But it can’t be four because he is a “Racist””. The label Backlash allows murder to be innocence and innocence to be murder. Justice was brought into existence to see off the label Backlash: the label Backlash has seen off justice.
SELF-BLINDNESS is a symptom of paranoia. … and through the prioritisation of honest dialogue … (1.1.6.) Honest dialogue with whom? With Backlash? Honest dialogue with the writers of this report is like signing a confession in Salem. Ah, but wait a moment, Whites were consulted by the writers of this report: It is important to note that White rural voices were also sought and included in this report. Why were they sought and included? In doing so we aim to understand not only how racism manifests but also how it is rationalised … . (1.2.9.) That’s why.
The label Backlash has seen off love. At the root of the backlash is a strong sense of pride and belonging towards the country. (3.1.5.) Home-love is now Backlash. Home-love is not choice: IT IS IN OUR GENES.
Migration is not in our genes, it is in our greed. And in our hatred. All the evidence is that since Christopher Columbus HUMAN MIGRATION HAS BEEN A CATASTROPHE FOR HUMANITY.
History teaches us that PARANOIA IS A KILLER. The more you appease it the more murderous it becomes. Hide away, it seeks you out. Paranoia is blind and deaf. Paranoia needs provide no evidence: its truths are self-evident. If those labelled Backlash provide evidence, it is evidence of Backlash. It used to be said that the Devil has all the best tunes: paranoia says that the Devil has all the best arguments. The truer the argument, the darker the Devil. Like jealousy, like alcoholism, PARANOIA GROWS. History teaches us that CONFRONTATION IS THE ONLY SAFE WAY WITH PARANOIA.
In cases where Romany (Gipsy), Roma and Irish Traveller communities seek to set up ‘permanent’ rural sites, their identity is viewed to be relinquished and their status as minorities with protected characteristics is consequently contested. (3.1.6/7.) How can you talk to this sort of blindness?
What might appear to others as ‘friendly concern’ is experienced as quiet form of territorialism … (2.2.28.)
And finally: It explores how rural spaces are being reshaped by inequality and exclusionary behaviours. (1.2.9.) Oh Cyclopean Racists, who can reshape the very Earth.
THE MENACE TO DEMOCRACY. Representation in Decision-Making. Diverse voices, especially those with lived experience of exclusion, must be included in decision-making roles across rural institutions. (1.2.6.)
TOWARDS GENOCIDE: THE DENIAL OF THE ENGLISH. Myth Six: Rural History is White History. (2.1.5.) According to the writers of this report, English history is “myth”. In its vulgar use here, “myth” means false. But like all the other nations of Humanity, we ARE our history. If our history is “myth”, we are “myth”. THE DENIAL OF THE ENGLISH NATION IS GENOCIDE. Denial of a nation is useful preparation: you cannot murder a “myth”.
VICTIMISM. Another name for paranoia is victimism. Victimism is to know that whatever I do, I am victim, and whatever you do, you are villain. Victimism is the rejection of personal responsibility: whatever I do is your fault. Victimism is impervious to truth, conscience or justice. It rages upon this planet at this moment. It bombs children in their Lebanese beds because it is victim. It murders three little girls because it is victim. Anti-Racism is its mother.
Its mother has not always been Anti-Racism. The most deadly outbreak of victimism of the Twentieth Century was that of the Nazis.
Let the English beware: this report is not to be dismissed as nonsense.
An older name for paranoia is Righteousness. The Righteous allow nothing to impede their progress to the triumph of their righteous will. This includes justice. The Righteous pronounce that justice is not justice if it stands in the way of their righteousness: they seek the TRIUMPH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS OVER JUSTICE: RIGHTEOUSNESS IS JUSTICE. (See Salem).
