Race Wars Part One – India v Muslims

The Claim

On 03 March 2026  a brawl broke out during a Holi celebration held at the former Harrow Civic Centre car park on Station Road. Police were called and arrested a teenager.  Holi is a Hindu festival and it was later alleged that an attack had been launched by people from a nearby mosque. There is some video on the link of this – https://harrowonline.org/2026/03/04/brawl-breaks-out-during-holi-event-at-former-harrow-civic-centre-car-park/

Then their MP weighed in: “A British Conservative MP has urged the Labour government to step in to ease rising community tensions after a group disrupted a Holi celebration in north London, an incident that was raised in the UK Parliament, according to PTI.  Opposition MP Bob Blackman, whose constituency includes Harrow, told the House of Commons that a group of “thugs” disrupted an annual Holi festival event held at a Civic Centre car park last week.

“This event has been run for many years. It is a joyful occasion, and more than a thousand people attended,” Blackman told MPs. Blackman, who chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for British Hindus, said the disturbance began when a group left a nearby mosque and interfered with the celebration. Thugs from the Central Mosque left the mosque and then decided to disrupt proceedings by pulling over the speakers and disconnecting the audio system,” he said. “They were then chased away by stewards. That was bad enough,” he added.

According to Blackman, the group later returned with reinforcements and attempted to attack people celebrating the festival. “They then came back with 20 more thugs and attempted to attack the people celebrating,” he said.”   He didn’t stop there

And later went on to say, But I also have serious questions for the Metropolitan Police. Despite up to 20 attackers being present, only one arrest has been made. Even more troubling, the official police statement contradicts the accounts of organisers, victims, and every eyewitness on the ground, and refuses to acknowledge this as a targeted attack on a Hindu religious celebration. The Met must explain this contradiction and confirm that a full investigation is under way to bring all those responsible to justice.”

The Counter Claim

As far as the Met were concerned there was only one incident, the one they attended and where they made an arrest of a 14 year old boy for uttering some racial abuse about black people.  https://insightuk.org/live-updates-eyewitness-accounts-suggest-islamists-attacked-holi-celebrations-in-london/

The Counter Counter Claim

The  Siddhashram Shakti Centre released a statement contradicting the statement published by West Harrow Police in relation to the attackers and their motives. See below extract;

However, towards the end of the event, around 8:35 pm, three youths arrived near the venue and began to disturb the sound system. They were identified as a Muslim group. They were reportedly carrying sticks and a sword. Our volunteers and security team approached them calmly and respectfully requested that they allow the peaceful religious gathering to conclude without disruption. Unfortunately, the individuals did not cooperate and damaged the sound equipment, including speakers, which were thrown to the ground and broken, before leaving the immediate area.

Shortly afterward 10 minutes, from the roadside of the Mosque, a larger group of approximately 15–16 youths approached the vicinity, creating further disturbance and terror by throwing glass bottles, sticks and other objects, causing fear among attendees and attempting to intimidate devotees. Our security personnel and volunteers acted responsibly to protect attendees and prevent escalation, ensuring the safety of those present. Our security personnel also got hurt.

The Metropolitan Police were immediately contacted, and officers arrived promptly within approximately 10 to 15 minutes. With the assistance of members of the community, one individual was detained and handed over to the police, and an arrest was subsequently made.

During the incident, Our Spiritual and Community leader HH Shri Rajrajeshwar Guruji personally contacted senior police officials, including Superintendent Zubin Writer, who provided prompt support and ensured that additional officers were present at the site until the situation was fully under control and the event concluded safely.

 Police view of that event:

“A 14-year-old boy on suspicion of affray and a racially aggravated hate crime offence as he was heard making racial slurs towards the black community. I am aware of speculation circulating on social media and that there are concerns that Hindu phobic language was used. I have been in regular contact with the investigation team, who inform me that this is not the case and that this incident was not targeted at Hindu or Islamic communities.”

Claim Number Two

On the 19th of March it was reported  that Indian shops attacked in London by masked gang, restaurants and stores targeted in Wembley.  Hindu media reports mostly read thus:

“A wave of attacks on Indian businesses in Wembley has sparked concern among the diaspora community in the United Kingdom. Masked gangs allegedly targeted several establishments, vandalising restaurants and grocery stores late in the evening. Among the businesses attacked was Manek Chowk, where videos show masked individuals smashing tables, chairs and lights before fleeing. Another disturbing video shows vandals destroying stock outside Panesar Food and Wine. Locals say the violence appears coordinated and has been recurring over several nights. The incidents come days after a disruption during Holi celebrations in Harrow, which was raised in Parliament by MP Bob Blackman. Authorities including Brent Council have condemned the attacks and called for strict action. The incidents have raised concerns about the safety of Indian-origin shopkeepers in the area.

“On March 5, a group of around 15–20 masked men stormed the Indian restaurant Manek Chowk Restaurant located on Ealing Road after 8 pm. According to reports, the attackers smashed furniture, equipment, and windows, leaving the restaurant badly damaged. Visuals from the spot showed overturned tables and chairs, shattered glass, and crockery scattered across the floor.  Witnesses stated that the attack occurred without any apparent confrontation or provocation. The assailants were reportedly part of a Somali Muslim gang. Just two days later, on March 7, the same establishment was reportedly targeted again. Eyewitnesses claimed that around 15–20 attackers approached from the direction of a nearby mosque and began vandalising the restaurant.”

The Rangrez Restaurant, owned by Sikh restaurateur Harman Singh Kapoor, was vandalised on March 7 after eggs were reportedly hurled at the premises following closing hours. The incident is believed to be linked to the restaurant’s publicly stated policy of serving only non-Halal food. Kapoor has previously said that he has faced repeated backlash and threats from Islamist elements over his decision to maintain a strictly “proudly non-Halal” menu at the restaurant in Hammersmith. Earlier this year, he had also announced plans to shut down the establishment, citing persistent threats, harassment, and what he described as inadequate response from the police regarding the security concerns surrounding the business.

On March 6, Panesar Food Store, located on Harrow Road, was reportedly targeted by a group of masked individuals who ransacked the shop. According to reports, the attackers pulled down boxes of fruits and vegetables, threw them onto the ground, and trampled over them, leaving the store in disarray. A local resident describing the incident said, “They destroy the places, video it and go. It looks like they…” suggesting that the perpetrators appeared to record the vandalism before leaving the scene.
