England is no Longer a Nation

English is no longer a nationality

It can be seen from those definitions below that the people of a nation have common characteristics, and that these characteristics (language, culture, race, tradition, shared history) are ethnic in nature. Given that England is a land of many cultures, many languages,  differing traditions, different histories, many ethnicities, and given that its population no longer has a common origin, it no longer fulfils the conditions presumptive of a nation.  Added to this it doesn’t have its own head of state, government, laws or sovereignty.  If England is not a nation, then English is not a nationality.
