RACE HATE CRIME IN ENGLAND AND WALES
Someone said that the government were obscuring the figures on hate crime. So I thought I’d check. My wife read the result and said: “you’ll be shot”. These are the government stats.

Superficially at least, white people are way down the bottom of league when it comes to being victims of race hate crime, but let’s put those percentage into numbers and clear away the obfuscation:
Population of England & Wales = 60,000,000
Of which whites are 85% or 51,000,000
Of which Black = 3.3% or 2,000,000
Of which Asian = 7.5% or 4,000,000
Mixed ethnicity = 2.2% or 1,000,000
Other ethnic = 1% or 600,000
Actual number of hate crimes per ethnicity = Population per ethnicity times % of victims by ethnicity:
White, 0.1% of 51,000,000 = 51,000
Black 0.9% of 2,000,000 = 18,000
Asian 1% of 4,000,000 = 40,000
Mixed 0.3% of 1,000,000 = 30,000
Other 1.1% of 600,000 = 6,600
Total number of attacks 145,600
Now we’ll put these numbers back into percentages as victims of hate crimes.
Victim ethnicity by percentage = number victims by ethnicity divided by total number of attacks times 100
White – 51,000 divided by 145,600 x 100 = 35% of victims are white
Black – 18,000/145,600 x 100 = 12% of victims are black
Asian – 40,000/145,600 x 100 = 27% of victims are Asian
Mixed – 30,000/145,600 x 100 = 20% of victims are mixed race
Other – 6,600/145,600 x 100 = 5% of victims are “other”
Now we can see the elephant in the room, because if 35% of all victims are white and 85% of the population is white, then is the 15% non-white population responsible for 35% of hate crime incidents? And if the 85% white population is solely responsible for the hate crimes against the 65% of people who are non-white, wouldn’t that make white people somewhat less racist than some other ethnicities?
